The Vision Modular Structures system is extended up to 25-storeys at Wolverhampton.
A client on behalf of Wolverhampton University commissioned a series of three multi-storey.
student residences, which are purpose-designed and built in Vision's modular construction system. At up to 25-storeys in height, these buildings are the tallest modular structures in the World today and represent an enormous step forward in modular construction.
This important new urban residential project, emphasises the benefits of off-site manufacture in terms of higher productivity, speed of construction, reduced waste and minimum impact during construction. Significantly, the use of off-site technologies means that the day to day site activities and storage of materials are greatly reduced compared to the requirements of traditional construction. These key factors were crucial to the planning of this project.
The modular construction system is designed and manufactured by Vision Modular Structures as part of the Fleming Group. Fleming is also the main contractor.
Iain Thayne, Chief Executive, Vision Modular Structures UK said:
"This scheme represents a milestone for modular construction and demonstrates that with the right technology and approach most traditional methods of construction can be replicated by modular methods.
We look forward to the successful completion of this project in what will be a significantly reduced on site period, continuing to demonstrate one of the many other benefits of a modular approach."
